Topics You Need to Be Pitching in Q4

As we enter into the final quarter of the year (Can you believe it?!), we’re back with a few ways to be creatively and effectively pitching yourself, your brand, or your book in Q4. 


By now, you know the drill (And if  you’re new here, you can check out our past posts about pitching topics in Q1, Q2 and Q3) – the best way to grab the media’s attention is to contribute to a timely conversation. By anticipating what the media will be covering in Q4, you can proactively pitch yourself in a way that is relevant and compelling. 


While you should always keep up with the latest news and trends, there are a few topics that the media hones in on during Q4. Be thinking of ways you can contribute valuable content, helpful advice or include your personal story. Below, you can find a list of monthly topics that are frequently covered by the media in October - December, along with subtopics to help you think of various pitch angles.

  • Women’s Small Business Month - Your founder’s story, fostering a healthy culture within small business, woman empowerment, lessons learned 

November Pitch Topics:

  • Giving Tuesday (November 30) - Importance of giving back to your community, favorite nonprofits and charities, how to practice generosity on Giving Tuesday and year-round  

December Pitch Topics: 

  • Holiday Gatherings - Holiday recipes, hosting tips and tricks, tablescape and decor ideas

  • Preparing for 2023 - How to set priorities for the new year, important goals to strive for in 2023, what to consider when setting 2023 goals for your business 


Ongoing Topics: 

  • As great as planning is, make sure you are also keeping an eye on breaking news, hot topics and trending issues, as these make great pitch angles too!
