Internship Opportunities

Choice Media & Communications is the leading communications firm dedicated to providing clients in the entertainment and lifestyle space with quality communications services. Choice helps brands, influencers, and authors grow their business and influence by leveraging our unparalleled relationships and crafting smart, personalized communication and brand strategies that demand attention and deliver results.

We offer three different remote internships during the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters. Our ideal candidate is sharp and savvy with a great deal of initiative, strong work ethic, warmth, superior writing and communication skills and a genuine passion for the lifestyle and entertainment clientele Choice serves. All internships are non-paid with the opportunity for school credit. Interns are asked to work 10 - 20 hours per week.

Business Development

Interns work alongside the Business Development Coordinator + Manager to generate leads, host briefing calls, and secure new clients.

Business Development Internship

This Internship is led by members of Choice’s Business Development Team including the Manager and Coordinator. 

As a Business Development Intern, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain in-depth knowledge of all that the Publicity world entails and the services that are offered to those who seek a partnership with a Media and Communications Company to grow their brand, business or platform

  • Generate leads for future campaigns

  • Contact potential clients on a weekly basis via email.

  • Participate in briefing Zoom calls to meet clients, introduce them to Choice, and learn about their media and communications needs.

  • Learn about the business development processes of finding, recruiting, and signing client letters of engagement.

  • Collaborate on projects with other departments as needed (Publicity, Social Media, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Have the means to work remotely with a personal computer or laptop, as well as access to a reliable internet connection

  • Organizational aptitude and keen attention to detail

  • Must be self-motivated and have a strong initiative

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Publicity

Interns work with Choice’s Publicity Team to create media lists, craft compelling pitches, and secure media coverage for Choice’s clients.

Publicity Internship

This Internship is led by members of Choice’s Publicity Team including Senior Publicists, Publicists, and Associate Publicists.

As a Publicity Intern, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Research and develop media lists for local, regional, national, op-ed and podcast publicity campaigns

  • Prepare high-quality press materials for clients including press releases, pitches, one-sheets, product catalogs, and media advisories

  • Keep an ear to the ground for newsworthy opportunities, reviewing daily HARO’s (Help a Reporter Out), researching trending topics and brainstorming unique pitch angles

  • Assist in pitching traditional and digital media on timely client opportunities to secure earned media coverage and maintain accurate tracking and response records

  • Plan for printed editorial media opportunities by maintaining and monitoring editorial calendars

  • Vet and coordinate incoming media opportunities for clients and prepare interview notes for confirmed coverage

  • Maintain campaign status reports with monthly media coverage, metrics, action items, and opportunities

  • Participate in internal planning and external client meetings

  • Maintain the Choice Media and Communications website (WordPress hosted) with updated client information and recent media coverage

  • Contribute to the client acquisition process, performing competitive research, participating in brainstorming sessions and developing proposal materials

  • Assist in client offboarding by preparing comprehensive campaign coverage overviews

  • Collaborate on projects with other departments as needed (Social Media, Business Development, etc.)

Digital Media

Interns work alongside the Social Media Coordinator to create content, strategy, and intentional engagement on various social media platforms.

Digital Media Internship

This Internship is led by Choice’s Social Media Team including the Manager and Coordinator. 

 As a Social Media Intern, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist in researching potential new clients for Social Media Management

  • Work directly with clients to improve their overall brand, engagement reach, and messaging

  • Generate analytic reports for each clients’ social channels

  • Help with the creation of - Graphics, Audiograms, Social Responses, Blog Posts, and Content Copy

  • Collaborate on projects with other departments as needed (Publicity, Business Development, etc.)

Events

This intern will be responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of our Choice Summit and Choice Collective.

Event Planning Internship (Hybrid)

Choice Media & Communications is hiring an intern in Event Planning for our Choice Summit and Choice Collective. This candidate should be sharp and savvy with a great deal of initiative, strong work ethic, warmth, organized, attentive to detail, with strong customer service skills, and a huge passion for media trends, pop culture and current events. This will be a non-paid internship with the opportunity for school credit and will likely be around 10-20 hours a week. 

This Internship is led by Choice’s Operations Manager and works in collaboration with every Choice department.

As an Events intern, you will have the opportunity to: 

  1. Assist with securing locations and logistics for our upcoming Choice events

  2. Provide assistance including brainstorming, research, and outreach to potential event sponsors and speakers

  3. Brainstorm, research, and outreach to potential outlets for event promotion

  4. Assist with planning and finalizing event decor

  5. Help develop event programs and printed materials

  6. Assist with event setup for Choice Collaborative in October

  7. Assist with local errands and preparations as needed

  8. Assist with logistics onsite at the Choice Collaborative

  9. Assist with marketing communication to event attendees

Qualifications: 

  1. Be local in the Middle Tennessee area (Nashville, Franklin, Murfreesboro or similar) and have a reliable means of transportation. 

  2. Have the means to work remotely with a personal computer or laptop, as well as access to a reliable internet connection 

  3. Organizational aptitude and keen attention to detail 

  4. Must be self-motivated and have a strong initiative 

  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  6. Flexible and adaptable by nature
